Well…Braden certainly had fun last week, lol. We had a great time and met our new friend Gary the Canadian once we moved on to Dungeon Mayhem. If you didn’t catch Phil absolutely dying of laughter over and over because he simply couldn’t deal with Gary’s slow northern drawl and quick wit while sitting in for the rogue (who obviously wasn’t around – no disguises there) then you really should check out last week’s stream on the Twitch channel!
It was a good one.
This week we’re turning back to a couple of classics. These are some of our favorite games and if you were with us for the famous New Year’s Eve stream you’ve seen them before and if not, well Thursday’s your day, my friends!
Featured Game: Settlers of Catan
A game about building roads and towns, upgrading to cities, hoarding & spending resources, and balancing the need to trade with the desire to smash all your enemies on the small isolated island of Catan. Settlers of Catan is one of those strategy games that virtually everyone knows, many gamers love, and provides tons of strategy and replay-ability without getting too complex.
I mean if you don’t know what Settlers is, you need to upgrade your board game, um, game.
Also it was Phil’s actions in this very game that inspired our favorite meme ever:
Needless to say we are thrilled to get back to this classic and to see whose shenanigans will ultimately come out on top.
Short Game: Kittens in a Blender!
We’re doing more of a short game list cycle now, but if we get to a short game this week then Kittens in a Blender appears to be the next one that is on the docket. It is one of those great insta-classic card games for terrible people like all of us. Great way to follow up a game (or two) of Catan!
We are looking forward to seeing all of you tonight! If you’re not following us already on Twitch, please give us a follow (or even subscribe!) or consider supporting us on Patreon. We really appreciate every bit of support you can provide to keep these game nights going and we hope to see y’all tonight!
